Growing up as a little girl, I was always the belle of the ball.  Ruffled dresses with lace trim,  layers of petticoats stashed underneath, matching bloomies to wear over my undies, patent maryjanes…oh, the works.  But if you would have told that little girl that one day, she could enjoy a perfect pair of denim just as much as getting dolled up, she would’ve told you to “go fly a kite!”

Now don’t get me wrong…I LIVE FOR GETTING DRESSED UP.  But as I get older, the meaning of “dressed up” has changed with my lifestyle. I am learning to “wear what works,” and more often than not, what works is denim (the 5 year old version of me is squealing!).  Finding the right pair of jeans that fit your body, transition into your  wardrobe, and don’t break the bank, though, is key. You want a pair that can go from day errands to date night, from baseball games to the bar, from tennis shoes to Louboutins.

Speaking from hours of research spent in fitting rooms, I can confidently say that I have tried on every pair of denim that is out there….and I must admit, finding a perfect pair that fits, PLUS goes from day to night, PLUS is under $100, (PLUS let’s not forget makes my backside look perky!) is like finding a needle in a haystack…until now.  Thank you to WHBM and their Saint Honore Jean Collection for coming to the rescue…..me, my sneakers, my high heels, my pocketbook, and my tush thank you. (Oh, and you tiny, petite gals…don’t you worry, they’ve got you covered, too!)

Ladies, I know I’m not alone in always being on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans, so tell me, what do you look for when denim shopping?

Love this look! You’re 100% right the right pair of jeans is essential and the most essential part of the right jeans is fit! Once I find a pair/ brand I like, I buy the lot 🙂

Comfort, wash, and if they make me feel/look good! If I’m looking for skinny jeans, I look at the ankles (so hard for my 5’1 stature). If I’m looking for boyfriend jeans, I look for the right amount of baggy, without it looking like I just bought the wrong size.

Thanks Courtney!! I’m a WHBM employee and love our new styles of jeans. We carry slim, skinny, boot, crop and boyfriend jeans. All with great fit and style. Anyone needing a shorter size check them out online. Returning or exchanging is easy at any WHBM. Also any size or fit can be ordered at any store if you eat to try them out first. I’m currently in my boyfriend jeans. Can’t get out of them!!!

I’m digging this new hair and more casual look on you.

This is such a relaxed look that I can definitely get behind!

One thing that I look for in denim is LENGTH! I’m 5’5 or 5’6 on a good day. Some ‘regular’ lengths are too short and some ‘long’ lengths look like they are made for an amazon woman (which I am not). I don’t want something too short that makes me look like I’m preparing for a flood.

Either way length is my #1 choice when looking at denim!

I love this casual look on you! I am trying to purchase the outfit you are wearing but the sweater is sold out on all suggested websites and the Converse tennis shoes are also sold out in my size but I can find those on a different website. That is what happens when everyone wants to see “What Courtney Wore.” (= I am hoping I can at least find the jeans in a size 3 or 5. Nothing like a great fitting pair of jeans. I love your page and thank you for sharing all the cute clothes!!

Love this outfit – the sweater looks so nice!

I think that different girls will look for different things when jean shopping. I like to find a nice fit on the bum and hip, and I like dark washes. I can’t do skinny jeans because I have muscular calves so that’s another factor (that’s annoying) when shopping for jeans

I LOVE this outfit! I can’t believe the sweater is from Forever 21!

I always dread trying on jeans. It’s such a lengthy process, but once you find the ‘ones’ you’ll be glad you spent the time searching.

Nothing like white “chuck taylors” to round out the look! – Wonderful look! Love your style and your show Courtney!
