That Little White Dress

Photos by Molly Miller of A Piece of Toast

Jacket: c/o Threadsence; Dress: no name boutique find, old (Similar by Fluxxus); Turtleneck: J.Crew, old; Shoes: Zara, old; Gloves: no name boutique find (These are identical minus the studs!); Tights: SPANX; Beanie: c/o Threadsence (Black is no longer available but here is the taupe version); Belt: Zara, old (Similar); Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Nails: Orly “Kiss the Bride”; Lips: Stila “Natasha”

This white ruffle dress has been around the block….she’s seen it all…and she has undoubtedly been with me through thick and thin.

I remember back in 2008 when I purchased her….I was visiting my mom in Fort Worth and we popped into a new boutique that had just opened around the corner from her house.  I mentioned to my mother that I had a date that night, and lucky for me, when I spotted this LWD (little white dress, duh), mom footed the bill and said, “Good luck tonight!”  Naturally, that boyfriend is long gone, but this dress has remained a staple in my wardrobe!

You might remember when I paired this dress back to neons and my infamous Spike the Punch necklace here, or even when I showed you how to transition your favorite summer dress into fall here….but now I am using this feminine dress by layering it over all back and mixing it with a fun print, like camo!  (Style tip: Investing in a great shift dress, whether its white or black, will do your wardrobe a huge favor…you really won’t believe all the ways you can mix and match it, just make sure its a fabric that you can wear 12 months out of the year!)

Anyone else out there have a favorite staple like my white dress that you can mix with anything?!

    Courtney,

On your last two episodes you have worn some beautiful shades of red and pink lipsticks. Would you please share what color you wear and where I can purchase them?

    Thank You

Love this look. I love how youbalways look elegant even in the winter months. The jacket choice is a good one and red looks great for the gloves.
