But when you throw in leopard print on top of that….its almost too much for my fashionable heart to handle.
And gimme red lips, too? Oh. Em. Gee.

Several stores have already started teasing me with Spring ’15 arrivals…..AND IT’S KILLING ME!
A recent browsing turned shopping session at Zara got infused with spring fever when I laid my eyes on this great powder blue coat….I couldn’t resist it…I couldn’t fight it….and by golly, I was gonna find some way to work it into my winter wardrobe! (Remember when I had to also do that a couple weeks ago in this post?!)
I assumed the over the knee suede boots could kick any spring outfit’s ass and make it winter appropriate…am I right?!

A couple years ago while I was shopping a MAD (and I do mean insane, mad!) sale at Macy’s with my mama, I snagged this red trench coat for about $36. It had been marked down from like $129, to $99, to $75, and then if I used my Macy’s card I got an additional 40% off…or something like that. Regardless of the ridiculous details, it was practically free! I remember looking at my mom and being like, “I really don’t NEED a red trench coat in my closet, but I feel like when it’s this adorable AND this cheap, you kindof have to buy it, right?!” And all thoughts of necessity went out the window.
Fast forward about 3-4 years, and this red trench coat is still one of my favorites in my outerwear closet….it spices up any basic look, gives a pop of color that you can’t resist, and without a doubt, is a full-on showstopper.
$36 bucks well spent, if you ask me!

This week it was hit an almost record breaking 80 degrees in Dallas (sorry to my Northeasterners about Juno!), and I’ve had to put most of my cold weather clothing on a temporary hiatus.
It was the perfect week to mix & match one of my favorite (and seriously ANCIENT) pairs of cargo pants from Old Navy with a girly silk blouse….then spruce it up with a pop of color in my shoes! I was so excited about a slice of Spring weather, and didn’t want to go too over the top…I think I balanced it out well, right?!
When the temperatures warm up in your city, what’s the first item you’ll be wearing?

Another week, another Monday.
One of the perks of my many jobs that I have is that, typically, I never have to dress up past denim. But one of the challenges of this is continually finding ways to spruce up yet another pair of jeans.
There are days that I want to forget the casual and wear a pencil skirt, or a suit, or a great fitting, business casual dress…..but sadly, its just impractical for meetings and the radio station! But on this particular day, I found a way to wear the ladylike elements of a 9-5 gal, but pair them with my traditional denim!
How do you give your denim a dressed up look?

When it comes to most situations in life, you gotta pay to play. For me and my life, this saying is best suited to eating versus working out….and if I want to tex-mex & margaritas 3 times a week, then I gotta get my ass to a gym just as much…if not more!
And with all my New Year’s resolutions in full effect, now is as good a time as ever to get back into a routine with a weekly workout regimen! But before I hit the pavement and for for a jog, or hit the gym with my personal trainer, new workout clothes are obviously necessary…am I right or am I right?!
Luckily, right in time for my return to the world of fitness, Express has launched their Core Performance Collection where (thankfully!) “fashion meets fitness!” And not only does Express and their collection offer sport bras, to running leggings, to zip-up jackets, but in case you need some motivation, the website includes great workout tips!
But honestly, is there any better motivation than new workout clothes?! Whoever said that fashion has no place in the gym has clearly never been a style blogger!
What style approach do you take in the gym?

Ahhhhh, the classics.
Lately it seems as if I have been retrieving the same items from my closet time after time: An oversized blazer, hug-every-curve denim, and the perfect nude accents. It’s simple, it’s timeless, and its classic.
And aren’t those the pieces that a wardrobe is ultimately built around? The never-fail, stand the test of time, and style, essentials?
What’s your go-to look as of lately?

Don’t you hate when someone says, “Patience is a virtue,” or “It will be worth the wait?”
These phrases usually drive me mad, as I am probably the most impatient person there is…especially when it comes to clothing. Thankfully, my shopping habits are pretty trained in the “buy now, wear now” mentality, meaning I shop in the moment…for the now…aka, for TONIGHT…which means, I never have to wait to wear a new, favorite article of clothing!
But every once and a while I slip out of this train of thought and purchase something knowing that it will be perfect upon a climate change, or for a certain trip or vacation. Example: This Cameo skirt.
I knew it was absolutely spot on for spring time, and I already had an outfit planned with exactly how I would style it. But quite frankly, its been sitting on a rolling rack in my apartment taunting me…and one night, I couldn’t take it anymore. I decided that I was gonna try to mix it up with some cold weather attire and boots and take it for a spin….NOW!
How’d I do?!

People always ask if I would ever leave Dallas…
…and I can confidently say that RIGHT NOW, the answer would be no…but never say never.
One thing that keeps me in Dallas is the weather. Yes, it is unpredictable at times, and summer is hotter than hell, but for the most part, its perfectly filled with 4 seasons.
But right now, ITS WAY TOO COLD for my liking. Highs this week are topping out in the low 30’s and I think I saw 19 degrees as a low later this week. Cold weather is something that, although I enjoy dressing for, I don’t enjoy the overall experience. But thankfully, I’ve stocked my closet with some good coats over the years….and this one from Nasty Gal (which is on sale, btw!) is one of my current rotating favorites!
So, I know I sound like a big cold baby, but tell me….What are your cold weather tricks for staying beautifully bundled?!

As we drift out of 2014 and into 2015, many of us are left thinking about what we are choosing to leave behind and looking to what’s lying ahead.
For 2015, my list is quite short and to the point: LOVE.
Show love. Give love. Chose love. Feel love. Make love.
Happy New Year to you all….thank you all for continuing to make every one of my years’ better than the one before….I love you all!
What is your new years’ resolution?
