Fashion parties in Dallas are a dime a dozen…you dress up, you have a cocktail, you blow some kisses, you pose for the camera, and its RINSE, LATHER, REPEAT.  But its not everyday that the uber-chic teams from The Outnet and The Coveteur swing through Dallas, TX to host a fashion-filled soiree…so when this event hit my radar, I knew it would be one for the books.

And indeed it was.

Not only was the Room on Main lined with designer duds from The Outnet (Net-a-Porter’s fashionable little sister at a lower price!) but it was filled with Dallas’ most fashionable such as Jane and Judy Aldridge of Sea of Shoes and Atlantis Home, Tina Craig of Bag Snob, Holly Quartaro of Galleria Dallas, Jocelyn Taylor of D Moms Magazine, Amy Havins of Dallas Wardrobe, and Raya Ramsey, Fashion Editor of D Magazine, just to name a few. While the cocktails were flowing, guests could stroll the themed racks of apparel, swoon over some new shoes, try on some sparkle, or snap a selfie in the full-size mirrors (What? Who me? A selfie? I would never!).

And just in case all the browsing turned into buying, the team from The Outnet hooked patrons up with a hefty gift card to shop with. Not bad for just another Monday afternoon?!

By the time yall read this, I will be 30,00 feet high and flying the friendly skies somewhere between Dallas, TX and Miami, FL with my best friend, Tori.

Why is my trip to Miami relevant to this outfit? Well, follow this little story closely and learn:

The jumpsuit I am wearing in today’s outfit post is designed by my friend, Hunter Bell of Hunter Dixon.

Hunter, ironically, is also in Miami this weekend.

Hunter is currently competing on NBC’s “Fashion Star” with Sylvia Arguello.

Sylvia’s has a very handsome brother by the name of Ernesto, and he lives in Miami.

Ernesto is currently one of the 3 eligible bachelors on NBC’s new dating show, “Ready for Love.”

The other 2 gentlemen on “Ready for Love” are Tim Lopez and Ben Patton.

Ben is from Dallas and one of my closest friends.

And, Ben and Tim are also in Miami this weekend.

So, what’s the point of the story?!

Gorgeous jumpsuits bring people together. (Well, reality TV helps, too.)

When Spring sprang, I made a vow to y’all that I wouldn’t wear black from head to toe.  And for the most part, that vow has been fairly simple.  But let’s just be honest: There are days that black is just, straight up, easy.  You feel skinny.  It all matches.  And its always chic.

But, I made a promise.  And my promise I will keep.

So what’s the easiest way to update the perfect LBD? Well, considering its springtime, florals are the obvious answer…(Remember the scene in “Devil Wears Prada?”…”Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.”)

I know, I know….its not the most original idea I’ve ever had….but let’s just think of it this way:  Black is to wintertime as florals are to springtime…aka the obvious choice.
