Any wise man knows the one place their hands are never welcome is inside a woman’s handbag. Fearful for what they might discover amongst a lady’s bag, they have been advised for decades to stay far, far away. And women alike have probably stayed “mums the word” on dishing what we really do stash in there.
So when Raya Ramsey of D Magazine contacted me about, literally, spilling the beans on what I carry inside my beloved clutch day after day, I was a wee bit nervous to actually ‘fess up to its legit contents! But then I remembered that I shared my entire personal life on tv….so I mean, really, what else is there to hide?!
Aside from the expected handbag essentials like wallet, keys, and my go-to daily calendar, here are some of my other favorite items that I never leave home without:
-Hairpsray: DUH. I’ve told y’all before about my love for Enjoy’s spray, but sadly they are yet to offer a travel-size version…so depending on how big my bag is, I sometimes have to resort to this generic drugstore version.
-Sunnies: I usually have about 4 pair with me at all times…all fabulous and all from Sunglass Hut.
-Band-aids: Remember the dreaded toe accident back in the end of March?! Well it not only left me with one heck of a scar, but I’ve now become quite the band-aid curator!
-Asthma and allergy meds: I’ve been cursed with horrible allergies and asthma, having both since I was born (and the bags under my eyes to prove it!) Food allergies happened as an adult…cucumber being the most upsetting (Ordering for me is a nightmare at a sushi restaurant!)
-Makeup: Red lips, a gloss option, MAC bronzer, YSL concealer, and eyeliner is all a girl needs!
