In the world of fashion there is one phrase that is more overused than any other:  “You can dress it up or you can dress it down.”

Perhaps we all love this phrase because when it comes to purchasing out a dress, or a pair of shoes, or even a handbag, that simple fact is a determining factor of whether or not we pull out our Visa.  How many places can I wear this? Can I wear it to work? Can I wear it on a date? Is it year round?

And I’m sure to many of yalls surprise, I am going to say that an Herve Leger dress fits the bill in  most of these categories.

“But Courtney, wait! You are telling me that a bandage dress can go from day to night, casual to dressy, summer to winter?!”

Yes, ladies….I am.  Still don’t believe me? Well, thanks to the folks over at The Outnet, I am going to be showing yall all week how to work that sexy form fitting dress into your wardrobe….and not to mention, turn a few heads in the process. And if that’s not enough to convince you, The Outnet is even giving away an Herve Leger dress to one lucky reader (yes, you read that correctly!) so that she can see all the ways to style it herself! Good Luck!

(To enter the Herve Leger giveaway, please follow the rafflecopter and its rules below. If the rafflecopter doesn’t load, refresh your browser.  Contest runs through August 25, 11:59pm CST.  Once the contest has ended, a winner will be chosen at random and noticed to claim their prize.)

Hi! I’m in love with this beauty! I’d pair it with a camo style cargo jacket with leather sleeves tapered in to be extra slim fitting, a slouchy grey beanie and menswear inspired gold loafers with a cheetah print thin belt pulling it together for day. For evening I would wear a caged bootie in nude, smoky eye and tons of interesting and locally made dainty gold jewels. By letting your natural beauty and curves stand out but adding some edge with the shoe I think it would balance out this lovely dress.

  135. Great giveaway, Courtney!

I’d pair it with a blazer, pearls, and wedges for work – then spice it up at night with a great statement necklace and some Louboutin pumps!

  136. Samantha storer says:

I am loving this gorg dress! <3 wish I had one just like it to rock out in Vegas for my up coming 1 year anniversary trip!!

    Xo
    Samantha

  137. Jessica says:

This color is divine! A Sunday brunch with friends or a date night.. I could see it working both ways!

  138. LOVE how you styled the dress…I have always wanted an Herve dress (and those Louboutins!!). I would style it with a jean or military style jacket with lots of bracelets and embellished metallic sandals (maybe even my new champagne metallic MK sneakers?!) by day, and with my Schutz lace up heels and gold jewelry by night!

  139. Rhonda says:

Hi Courtney! Awesome giveaway! I am such a fan of bandage dresses and to work this dress as a daytime look I would style with an off white boyfriend vest, tan booties, and fun bangles and for a night look, with a biker leather jacket and black gladiator heels. Hope to win and show you pics of my styling!

  140. Punam Shallenberger says:

    Courtney, you’ve nailed this!

Obvi, the blazer is such a “I-woke-up-30-minutes-late-for-a-meeting” option over this stunner. You can walk in to the board room and no one will even be thinking about how your reports have coffee all over them.

Now, on to your casual, but very put together look…Step 1: Herve bandage dress (is there even another option?) Step 2: Coordinating oxford or chambray shirt (this might be the most thought you have to put into this process. Step 3: Don’t button up and roll up the sleeves (you, know…you’re too cool for school) Step 4: Belt it, babe. Skinny and braided, or statement wide belt…either way it doesn’t matter. Step 5: Booties I think those heeled tan ones you’ve got on work great or even rough it up with some of your fave ankle, worn in, moto boots. 5 Steps—BOOM. Wear some shades though (that one can’t count).

Date night: Herve Dress, nude shoes are perfect to let your now perfectly shaped bod say all that needs to be said. Red Lips. And some studs to add some sparkle next to that smile. Done.

That dress is such a basic. The hardest part is to pick your color, really.

  141. Lindsey Orabona says:

I would wear this dress exactly how you say! Its why I follow your blog!!

  142. Jessica Johns says:

Nothing says spicy like Herve Leger.

  143. Britt says:

Holy Hotness! I need one of these to spice up my date night with the hubs! Courtney- always <3 your style!!!! Obsessed! ;)

  146. Andrea Darst says:

You look stunning! I’d wear with cork wedges and a denim vest during the day and stiletto heels and a statement necklace at night

  147. Erica says:

Daytime: I would style with a floral blazer and a pair of wedges and a statement necklace and my hair down with a neutral colored turban.

nighttime: remove the turban and blazer, add some curls in my hair and a pair of statement earrings and a cuff, a clutch and a pair of pumps

  148. Carrie Sears says:

  149. Gabrielle knafo says:

I love the bandage dress and would love to style it from day to night! A cute denim jacket for day and a fitted black Moto jacket or blazer for night!

  150. Sarah Kennedy says:

I would definitely wear the dress with a jean jacket during the day and just keep it simple for the night with just a leather jacket if it gets cold! Never even thought to make this dress a day-to-night dress! Love it!

  151. Rachael Proctor says:

During the day, I would pair the dress with a cardigan and simple/classy black pumps for work. At night, I would ditch the cardigan for a blazer and switch my pumps for edgy black booties.

LOVE the color of the dress!

  152. Aston Daniels says:

Strapped gold heels and door knocker earrings.

  153. Lindsay says:

  154. Kaleigh says:

For the day I would pair with a cropped denim jacket and my tan suede ankle booties with a brown leather tote. For night I would switch to my favorite leather jacket and nude lace up heels. I would throw on my garnet and gold cocktail ring and hit the town!

  155. Sarah says:

I would of course wear a chambray shirt and wear with cowboy booties during the day and switch to statement earrings and sky high stilettos for night!

I love this color for Fall! For day/work I would wear a black blazer or leather jacket with nude pumps. To take it to night I would wear sexy black booties and accessorize with a statement necklace and an adorable clutch/crossbody bag! I WANT :)

  158. Styling a bandage dress from day to night can certainly be a tough call–unless you’re a consistent style and blog reader pulling inspiration from anywhere and everywhere! One way I would style the Herve Leger dress is to tuck it in to a fabulous pencil skirt with pumps and even a jacket for the office, then just pull off the skirt (and definitely the jacket) and style it with your favorite gems and bag for a night on the town!

    XOXO,
    Rebecca

  159. amanda says:

i love your style, courtney!! also, love the dress!

  160. Jessica Pridgen says:

I didn’t know it was possible to love Courtney Kerr any more than I already do, but now I know I was wrong! A Herve Leger dress?!?! YES PLEASE!!!

  161. Tori says:

Its all in the shoes and makeup. Maybe a neutral mid size pump with a soft brown smokey eye for the day and either a strappy high heel or bootie with a dark smokey eye for night.

  162. Samantha Kucera says:

Oh Herve! I’m forever drooling over his website, dresses and all. I’m counting the days until I graduate college and have a job so I can afford one of the many dresses I’ve bookmarked over the years. These dresses are definitely the most convertible. Flats, heals, pumps, booties, or knee high boots… All would work. Also a bunch of my leather jackets and even a chunky sweater would be crazy beautiful together. It’s just a can’t go wrong with anything type of dress. Love!

  163. ashley says:

    this dress is AMAZING!!!!

  164. Kelly says:

What girl could not be in love with Herve Leger. It would be an absolute dream come true to be able to work this dress into my wardrobe and style it from day to night. I will make all the guys heads turn!!! :)

  168. Eli Martinez Rangel says:

Hi Court! I looove the versatility you’ve given to this dress! I think this color and shape of dress goes with pretty much all body types. I would style the dress “down” by pairing it with a jean jacket, I would keep the booties you’re wearing!

  169. Britan says:

Loving this look! So many ways to style it… where do you even begin?!

  170. Julie says:

Just accessories for the day and a white trenchcoat for the night.

I must have been a Texan in another life!!!!

Seriously love your style and often copy your exact outfits – hence why I have to have this dress :)

    This dress is perfection!

  174. Flats to heels! The higher the heel the better the night!

Why cover such an amazing dress up? I’d simply pair it with a few bracelets, a tassel necklace, and fabulous high heels,

  176. Kim Raguza says:

Loveeee this color! It will be a great transition into fall!

  177. Mary says:

Love both looks, you seem to have nailed the look!
Changing shoes, jewelry and jacket would vary the look. I would wear fancy flats with jacket during the day and then a longer lace knit cardigan from BCBG with high heel pumps for evening. Don’t forget to change your handbag as well!

  178. Joey says:

I love the way you styled the dress!

  179. Paige says:

I adore the way you make an Herve look casual! I never thought that was possible- but you do it effortlessly! I would love it styled with long gold chains and nude Loubs, I would throw in a lucite clutch for evening. But for day- i love it with the booties- makes it seem so pulled together but not like it took you 3 hours to get ready- and that’s what I love about your style! It’s attainable for everyone to achieve.

  180. Kelsy says:

I am classic in my style, so for work I would put a put a belted cardigan and matching flats for a more conservative day look, and simply add heels and big stud earrings for a night out!

  181. Huong says:

LOVED how you rocked it with simple nude heels! I’d like to keep it simple, but take it up a notch, Courtney-style with Sophia Webster heels like Jessica Stein’s here: http://www.tuulavintage.com/2013/07/sophia/

  182. Veronica says:

This outfit could not have been more perfect. You look phenomenal~

  183. Amanda says:

Amazing styling! I would style with a casual jean jacket for day and with sexy strappy heels for night!

  184. I absolutely love how Courtney styled the dress, it’s perfect for fall.

The Sportsanista, yes I’m talking I’m the third person, would style it as such…….

    – One part Herve Leger oxblood bodycon dress
    – One part fur vest
    – One part lucite clutch
    – One part translucent pumps with black pointy toe

Put it all together and that makes a fierce Fall favorite! Here’s to hoping I win! :)

  185. Mallory says:

    You look great as always.

  186. Janice says:

    I LOVE this look!

  187. Constance Jordan says:

Since I work in a more professional setting (attorney), I would pair the dress with a simple black blazer and black booties or simple black pumps during the day. For night, I would exchange the blazer and booties/pumps for a statement bracelet and earrings (no jacket) and some high heeled sandals.

  188. Radmila says:

I loved the way you styled it, cannot do it better. Perhaps a denim jacekt for day, and statement ring and stilettos for night!

  189. Lydia Joy says:

I’d jazz it up with a bit more of statement jewelry and heels/strappy sandals! xx

  190. Amanda says:

That dress is amazing! I love the look of Herve Leger and I’m so excited that the Outnet is carrying it now! It means it is that much closer to my budget. :)

I’d pair one of their dresses with a military style jacket and booties or I’d do a pullover sweater and pumps for a work look!

  191. Rust says:

Croc pumps and simple gold jewelry.

  192. Corinne says:

I absolutely love this dress, especially in white. I’d pair it with a boyfriend cardigan and a pair of sandals for a casual dinner date.

Gorgeous! That dress would look amazing in my closet!

  194. Lynn says:

I love the herve leger ombre bandage dress. I think i can pair it with a cute crop denim jacket and flats for a day time look. And for night throw on a pair of black heels, a boyfriend blazer and a gold and black tone jewelry.
