Camo & Leopard

Peplum Top: Urban Outfitters; Button Down: Zara, old; Jeans: Urban Outfitters; Booties: ASOS; Bag: Michael Kors; Earrings: Gorjana; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Somedays you just gotta take a risk.

Leopard and camo?! Can it work? Print mixing in and of itself can be challenging, but when is too much print justΒ TOO MUCH PRINT?!

But on the flip side….if they are 2 prints you absolutely adore, can it just be a case of “the more the merrier?” Or perhaps they cancel each other out?

And now for the comments…what do y’all think?! Hit or miss?

Be nice, please….despite what some of you think, I actually am quite sensitive πŸ˜‰

PS. Don’t forget that tomorrow I will begin “Courtney’s Christmas Giveaways!” Lots of fun treats for you to win everyday! Make sure you have subscribed to get my daily emails so you don’t miss out on these awesome prizes!

  • Natalie

ah-mazing. it’s settled, i’m throwing on my zara camo pants and leopard flats this weekend. thanks for the insporation!

  • Sami

I’m ALWAYS a fan of your outfits and I adore this one.. until you get to the ankles. I still think you look fab but I think the leopard with cap toe is a tiny bit much. Maybe with a more simple leopard shoe.. I know you have a few πŸ˜‰

    Have a great day!

  • Jordan Adams

Normally I like all of your ideas, but this was a miss. Far far off miss

  • Courteney

Miss πŸ™ I loved it until we got to the booties. Maybe if it was a pump in a more neutral (read:brownish) leopard it could’ve worked.

  • Kelsey

LOVE the whole outfit, except for the leopard booties. The leather peplume is perfect with that white button up and camo pants!

  • Allison

I agree with everyone above. Loving it until the shoes. There’s something about the coloring and the black tip that don’t look right with the outfit. A more normal looking leopard print on a pump would probably look great with that outfit. You still look gorgeous, though!

  • Kelsey

Maybe you could try a less harsh colored leopard like these:

I think the ASOS ones are a little to orangey to match camo! haha πŸ™‚

    • Jenne

I agree with Kelsey. I kinda dig the daring combo [on YOU – I execute daring combos poorly, see also my plaid pants and striped shirt misadventure from high school]. But I do agree that the orange-y-ness of the booties makes it a little jarring. The Madewell bootie [sans toe cap] might do better. πŸ™‚

  • Tracey

Hi Courtney! You always look stunning, but I have to agree… not so much a fan of the leopard high heels with the outfit. =)

  • Lindsay

I love all these individual pieces, and I think leopard and camo could work, but this is too much. There’s a bit too much going on with the top half of the outfit AND the cap toe on the boots AND the camo/leopard. For example, if you left off the peplum top and did leopard ballet flats (less quantity of pattern), I think it would totally work!!

  • Genae

You gotta have confidence to rock this combo and you Rocked it well! Luv it!

  • Chelsie

Love you Courtney, but there is too many trends going on. Leopard + camo +basic loose tee would of looked great. Lose the peplum, undershirt and oxblood bag! xx

  • Debbie

Wow – I disagree. I totally LOVE this whole look! I am a huge fan of mixing patterns and you have pulled together something fun and fabulous! Absolutely love your trendsetting style, Courtney.

  • ceislin

Love the blouse/peplum layering! I don’t have a pair of camo pants but I do have some cheetah ones that might work just as well!

  • sarah

I usually love all things Courtney…but, darling, you look like a mental patient.

  • Julie Leah

You look gorgeous no matter what you wear! You’re fearless when it comes to fashion. I think I would’ve liked it better with leopard pumps rather than booties. But hell, with your confidence – rock it!

  • Penny Pincher Fashion

Love the idea of layering a button-down under a sleeveless peplum top…perfect for this time of year when it’s too cold to rock bare arms! πŸ™‚

  • Ashley

Whoa sister, major miss for me. Too many trends and the cap toe leopard bootie looks like it belongs to another outfit altogether. You are always so on point with your expert pairings that we’ll forget this ever happened. πŸ™‚

  • Stephanie

I LOVE the combo! I actually put on my camo pants with a leopard coat the other day and my boyfriend looked at me like I was nuts. I think if you have the confidence to rock something, than that means YOU can pull it off.

I think I may have gone a little simpler on top…the leather, peplum and studs is a bit much in my personal opinion, but you do you look gorgeous as always:) And yes I agree with you: leopard is a neutral!

  • Samantha Morgan

I LOVE the two prints together. The leopard heels on the jewel toned color blocking would be a better pick, as they are not as bright. Still cute, as always!

  • Kelly

    I absolutely love the booties!

    Sparkles and Shoes

  • Melanie

Not a fan of the shoes, they are way too loud and compete with everything else. I’d love to see you with your hair pulled back once in a while, perhaps with this outfit. I think a hairstyle can transform a look.

  • Cristina

Since I happen to own 2 pairs of leopard color blocking booties (one black and one GOLD) I am all for the more the merrier! My favorite looks take simple prints and make them just a little too much. I think it’s bold without being all “I tried too hard.”

Now if I can just find some camo skinnies!!!

  • JessyK boutique

Gorgeous as always Courtney! Absolutely love leopard & camo together – when done right that is! Which, you definitely know how to do right girl! FABULOUS! Let’s get together soon beautiful! πŸ™‚

  • Laura

    miss :/

  • Jenna

C, I guess we can be “mental patients” together; love the entire look- especially the booties and camo together. I appreciate how daring you are in styling and the risks you often take. I adore you/your blog because of how much your personality comes through your outfit choices and how youre an individual in your style.

  • Huong

I love everything, but I’m not a fan of the shoes. Very daring and I think it works, but maybe with some simple heels? I agree with Kimberly, layering the button up really works with the sleeveless peplum!

  • Max

The cheetah in the previous blog was purr-fect, this one is a little catfusing on the eyes. πŸ˜‰ but hey you look thin, so does it really matter?

  • Trisha

I love your style and your blog is one of my favorites! As an LA fashionista I think a confident gal can pull anything off! So while you can totally rock this with your perfect hair and great smile the shoes are a miss for me! I think more the merrier works perfect when refering to arm candy, friends, cell phone data and the number of boots in my closet! But I love your ability to take a risk!

  • Elizabeth

miss:( but you dont often-you cant be perfect all the time:)

  • April

All of y’all are nutty . Courtney you look GREAT as always . Every true fashionista loves a little funk in their outfits! You look fab!

  • Erica

Sorry to agree with the crowd but leather, peplum, oxblood, leopard AND cap-toe were too many trends together! Maybe a flat instead of captoe bootie would have made it better?

  • Nadine

I normally don’t make comments about anything like this but this is HORRID! Your previous looks from when you first started your blog were gorg. You were daring but still put together. I think you are trying way too hard to be different now, and it it just awful. If you keep it up you’re going to show up in the worst dressed section of a magazine. You can’t just throw every single daring piece together and expect it to come off as fashionable. Tone it down darling!!!!

  • Tia

I love your style. Your confidence is amazing!

  • Michelle Jay

    Hi Courtney,

You look fabulous! I loved everything about this outfit except the shoes. I just feel like the leopard pattern clashed way too much with the camo.

  • Alyssa

I think this outfit is fabulous! I love it all!!

  • rachel

Love the booties with the camo pants. Probs would tone down the top section if it were me but you kill it. Loves.

  • texasprincess

Court, I love the thought and effort you put into your outfit, but this one just isn’t my fav. I agree with everyone else about the shoes. I would wear either a black patent leather heel or a simpler leopard one. But kudos for trying it!

  • Christina G

I absolutely love it! I’m adventurous and love to mix prints and I’m totally going to steal this idea but with leopard flats this weekend! Keep rockin’ it girl!

  • Andrea Cociuba

Sadly miss:(( i love everyone of your outfit posts but this one just didnt hit that high mark… thank you for letting us see what it looks like tho! Love you!! xox

  • Monica Lopez

I think you are fab, but I’m on the fence about this look. I like that you have the balls to try this, but I’m not in love with the leopard and camo mix. Other than that, you look beautiful. Enjoy your night love. xo, Monica

  • Monica Lopez

If you’re not a fan, why check out her blog? Your mean comments are unnecessary. But, if you insist on hating, then hate on hater cuz Courtney is about to blow up and become even more successful especially when her new show airs.

  • Trey

Unlike the people who are hating, you stepped out of norm and tried something new, so kudos to you for that! You can’t always make everyone happy! I give it a 10 out of 10 for your confidence to set a trend. In my opinion, well done!

    • Sarah T.

I couldn’t agree more. YOU can totally pull this off! πŸ™‚

  • Trey

Then why are you checking out her blog? Don’t hate on her unless you have something better to show!

  • Jen

Gorgeous as usual! Love the fashion risks you take! Love the leather peplum top! Bananas.

  • Ariana

Oh honey. Love the shoes, love the bag, love everything! (Name that Movie!) Huge fan, of you, your style, and what you embody. My view: Express yourself. Fashion isn’t meant to be so SERIOUS. Have fun with colors and prints and patterns and textures. Five years ago, color blocking would have been so #tacky. But that’s what it’s all about, right? Finding what strikes you as unique, and lets you feel like you standout or simply, have fun with an outfit! From a former Dallas teenybopper to a true Dallas fashion queen, I approve, and will probably be testing this combo on the east coast sometime soon!

  • Krysta

Wow, that was unnecessarily hateful. Although it’s not my favorite outfit of hers doesn’t require me to say something mean. You need to learn some empathy and common courtesy. Nobody likes hateful people.

  • Christina

Love it. Completely fun. You are inspiring me to explore with more prints and pull out my animal print shoes πŸ™‚

  • Helen

Never thought of wearing my peplum top with a button down! LOVE this idea

  • Devon

I personally love this look! Being from Oklahoma I can relate to your classic southern style with a little style. You are such a fashion icon! Love your blog!

  • Toccara

I am a fan of your fashion but I am not feeling this outfit. It’s no to hte poitn where I would disown you in public because the this. I think it’s the shoes. You still look fabulous though! I hope that wasn’t too harsh.

  • Jessica

so much look – i think remove a few trends and it’d be great. my eye/brain doesn’t know what to look at!

  • Veronica Glam

I LOVE everything about this entire ensemble, great job! Love the edginess of it all.

  • Charleigh Bravo

    Thanks, Court!

  • Susanne

I really like this look. I would have never thought of it. You are so good at putting together outfits. I will no longer save those cheetah print wedges I have. What the hell!

  • Steph

I absolutely love it! I am pretty ballsy at mixing diff patterns……anyone can match an outfit, but if you mismatch a pattern and do it well, then that’s something special hahahah

  • hannah

Shoes with pants are bad, agreed. But don’t forget, the top half of this outfit is going somewhere different than the bottom. Total miss. Cringe worthy.
