I take fashion seriously and all….I mean, it is my livelihood. But sometimes, you just cant help yourself: a passing joke turns into an outfit post, which then turns into pun after pun after pun….and next thing you know, fashion is actually funny!!
Exhibit A: My new Dorothy Perkins bird print top (you might remember it from the feature I recently did for Dorothy Perkins website here). When it arrived, I smiled a smile of irony….primarily, the irony was seen in the mere fact that birds TERRIFY me (ever seen the Alfred Hitchcock “Birds” exhibit at Universal Studios? Yeah, I wish I hadn’t either!) but once I got over the fear that I was wearing birds and not having to interact with them, the bird jokes just began to flow…
-What do you give a sick bird? Special Tweetment.
-What do you call birds on their kneads? Birds of Prey
-What do you call a very rude bird? A Mockingbird.
And as if my horrible bird jokes weren’t enough…I decided to make this whole outfit “bird themed” as I wore my bird print top, with my bird cage bangle…and then topping it off with a giant “jailbird” pun and pairing it with a striped skirt!
Okay, okay…so much for my time as a comedian…I will stick to my day job! Heck, at least I got a good chuckle out of the whole thing!
